This past weekend was very enjoyable. It all started as we arrived at Chester Baptist Church in Chester, Massachusetts. This church is beautifully placed within the 7 hill towns of Massachusetts. Pastor Daniel Herr explained the amazing work that God by converting this church from a Catholic church to the Baptist church that it is today.
That afternoon Brittany had the opportunity to teach a sign language class to children and their moms. She had fun as so many of the children were already very interested in sign language. As Brittany taught we were reminded of the great work God did in Brittany's heart learning sign language as a teenager. The great burden to reach the Deaf with the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world we believe God has given to Chester Baptist Church. Thank the Lord for the encouragement that these families were with their desire to learn something that can be used for the Lord in a might way.
On the Lord's Day we had the privilege to stay the entire day at Chester Baptist Church. During the morning service Brittany led the children in a special song in sign language. It was awesome! We were able to take the evening service to share God's work in the United Kingdom. We believe God worked in a mighty way in our midst that night.
We praise the Lord for the kindness and hospitality of the Herr family. They invited us into their home and spoiled us with such things as a "MASS"ive pizza! (haha) We are thrilled with the friendship we made with them as God knit our hearts together. Thank you, Herr family!
Praise the Lord for a great weekend! We began our weekend on a youth outing with Wood River Baptist Church. We went on a fun hike to Purgatory Chasm in Massachusetts, then we went to a local milk farm where Brittany and I experienced a Rhode Island specialty "Coffee Milk". We finished up our outing with ice cream and a challenge from the Word of God. The evening brought back many great memories for us of growing up in our youth group at Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church. For the morning service on the Lord's Day, we shared God's work in the UK. We were so encouraged by Pastor Juneau and the people of Wood River Baptist Church. A special thank you to the Asermelly family for hosting us during our time in Rhode Island. Praise the Lord for the hospitality we were shown!
For the evening service on the Lord's Day, we traveled just a few minutes to Connecticut and joined Pastor Tim Gingarella and North Stonington Baptist Church for their evening service. We arrived at this historic church to find out that this church was started in 1828 and the main building is the original structure. When the church was started, it was called Third Baptist Church (a church plant from First Baptist Church a few minutes down the road). This First Baptist Church was Shubal Stearns home church before he left for Sandy Creek, North Carolina in the mid 1700's to start a church. From the church in Sandy Creek, Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church (our home church) was established in 1779. What an awesome connection!!! We thank the Lord for the warm welcome and fellowship we were able to have at this church as we shared our burden.
Please continue praying as we continue to travel in New England. Pray churches will gain a burden for the United Kingdom .
Please pray as we attend Wood River Baptist Church with Pastor John Juneau and North Stonington Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Gengarella this weekend. Tomorrow Brittany and I are going on a hike with the teens at Wood River Baptist Church. Pictures hopefully will be coming your way.
Praise the Lord for our time with Pastor Bill Beck and the people of Stedfast Baptist Church. Thank the Lord for a man who accepted Christ as his Savior after the service tonight. We have been so encouraged and refreshed. Thank you, Stedfast Baptist Church!
We are so excited about this fall. We begin our northeastern tour in Connecticut this weekend. We plan to be at Steadfast Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Beck sharing the burden God has laid on our hearts in the United Kingdom. Please pray for safety during this time and that God will burden the hearts of people for the United Kingdom.
